Mission Statement

Kare For Me is a 501(c)(3) non-profit foundation dedicated to providing support and funding to: no-kill animal shelters, clinical research for naturally occurring diseases in pets and under-privileged veterinarian students specializing in shelter medicine.

The Story

Founded in 2017 by Dr. Angela DeRosa DO, MBA, CPE, Kare For Me is a 501(c)(3) non-profit foundation dedicated to providing grants, support and funding for local, no-kill animal shelters who have been identified as providing exceptional care, service and well-being for homeless animals. In addition, Kare For Me provides funding in support of clinical research dedicated to discovering new or promising therapies for naturally occurring diseases in pets, such as kidney and heart disease.

Kare for Me also believes that every animal deserves quality veterinarian care. To wit, Kare for Me provides scholarships and funding for under-priviledged veterinarian students that either specialize in shelter medicine and/or who volunteer their services and expertise free-of-charge at no-kill animal shelters. This initiative introduces veterinary students to the emerging discipline of veterinary shelter medicine and creates educated shelter medicine providers for the future.

Funded solely by donations, Kare for Me is comprised of dedicated volunteers who not only consider pets as companions, but as family.
